Synopsis
A sawmill is running at full capacity. Logs weighing over 1,000 kilograms are lifted by hoists, tipped onto the sawing line, squared off, and finally cut into planks. In front of the control screens, a man monitors the operation. He suddenly notices something wrong and asks Elodie to go and check the squaring process. The young worker scrambles down the metal staircase above the parade of planks that flow continuously into the sorting machine. Suddenly, a step on the ladder gives way beneath her feet. A siren wails in the sawmill yard. Workers run everywhere. Word spreads: there has been an accident! A body bag closes over Elodie’s bloodied face. Inside the buildings, Alex climbs the metal ladder above the machines to join Tony…
