Synopsis
As at the end of every season, the French soccer family celebrates its heroes: smiles, selfies, awards—it’s the UNFP Awards night. Everything changes when, in front of the cameras, Racing star Fodé Thiam violently headbutts his coach and calls him a “dirty toubab.” “Toubab” means ‘white’ in Wolof. Stunned, the media storm begins. Called to the club’s side, Sam Berger, a talented communicator but consumed by her hypersensitivity, senses that this time the crisis will not be swept away by a new, more “marketable” scandal. From the stage of her always-sold-out theater, Marie Kinsky exploits the event by stoking the identity and social divisions that are tearing the country apart. Sam fears Marie all the more because they used to be very close… The two spin doctors engage in a merciless and relentless battle to sway public opinion, which has been distorted by the power of social media and its culture of confrontation. At the heart of this battle lies the fate of a great player, and with it, that of France. Because this fever is, above all, our own.
